For this product, we have selected a supple calfskin with a thickness of approximately 1.6 mm. The hides are sustainably tanned using plant extracts. We enhance this effect of natural beauty by hand-polishing our leather with hard wax, making every bag a unique one-of-a-kind item. Only a few parts of a hide are suitable for processing as full-grain leather, which is why only about one in every 60 hides meets our quality standards. \u003cbr\u003eFull-grain buffalo leather is a particularly robust material that develops a beautiful patina over the years and, with proper care, will last for decades. All original Alpenleder products are manufactured in our own production facilities by trained leatherworkers. The result is an indestructible product of the highest quality, with raw materials free of chromium and heavy metals! All products comply with EU REACH regulations. We use only vegetable-tanned full-grain leather for all our products, meaning every item is crafted from an entire hide.
